Summer
AND Winter:
Take the
Ardrossan - Brodick ferry, run by Caledonian
MacBrayne
Turn right out of the harbour and drive through Brodick on the A841
coastal road with the sea on your right. Just over 1 mile from the
harbour, bear left on to the B880 (know locally as "The String").
9 miles later you will be
in Blackwaterfoot.
Drive
through the centre of the village, over the bridge, and continue on the
main road up a small hill. At the top of this small hill on
your right
is a little cul-de-sac
...Laighbent B&B is on
this side
street and is the second on the left.
Summer ONLY:
You
can't book this ferry between Kintyre & Arran, just turn up
& join the queue.
Take
the Claonaig - Lochranza car ferry
to the North of
the Island,
motor South down the A841 coastal road for about 18 miles
till in Blackwaterfoot.
A reduced service runs from Tarbert to Lochranza in the Winter!
Buses,
run
by Stagecoach,
go to & from the (Ardrossan - Brodick) boat.
There is a bus stop only 200m from Laighbent B&B -
String road, North end & South end buses all
stop
there.
It
is 25 mins by bus from Brodick over the String road to Blackwaterfoot.
